About this generator
This generator makes a message that can only be opened one time on a device, or that stops opening after a chosen time. The one-time rule is tracked in the browser of the person who opens it, and the time limit is checked against their clock. That makes it useful for casual privacy, but it is not a guarantee: someone could still copy the encrypted text before opening it. Treat it as a convenience on top of strong encryption.
How to use this tool
- 1
Write your message
Type the message and a password.
- 2
Choose open once or an expiry
The advanced options are already open. Open once is selected.
- 3

Frequently asked questions
- Is it truly self-destructing?
- The rule is checked on the device that opens the message. It cannot delete copies of the encrypted text, so use it as an extra layer, not as a promise.
- How does the time limit work?
- The expiry time is stored inside the encrypted message and checked when it is opened, using the opening device's clock.
- Can I still read it if I forget the password?
- No. Without the password the message cannot be opened at all.
