About this generator

A normal QR code can be read by anyone with a phone. To keep the content private, this tool first encrypts your text with a password and then shows the encrypted result as a QR code. Whoever scans it sees only scrambled text, and needs the password to read it. You can also scan an encrypted QR code with the built-in scanner.

How much text fits in the QR code?
QR codes hold limited data, so encrypted messages need to be fairly short. The tool tells you when it is too long.
Is the password inside the QR code?
No. The password is never stored in the code, so share it separately.
