About this generator
WhatsApp already encrypts messages in transit, but a message stays readable on the phones and backups of everyone in the chat. If you want a message that only a person with the password can read, encrypt it here first. Send the encrypted text or the share link in WhatsApp, then tell your friend the password in another way. The Share button can open WhatsApp with the link ready to send.

Frequently asked questions
- Why encrypt a message that WhatsApp already encrypts?
- WhatsApp protects messages while they travel. A password-locked message also stays unreadable in backups, screenshots of the chat and on shared phones.
- Can my friend open it on their phone?
- Yes. They open the link or paste the text on the Decrypt tab and enter the password.
- Does WhatsApp see my password?
- No. The password is never sent, and the link keeps the message after the # sign.
