Frequently asked questions
- When should I use Base64 images?
- For very small images or icons, to avoid an extra file request. Large images are better as normal files, because Base64 makes them about a third bigger.
- What is a data URI?
- It is the Base64 string with a prefix such as data:image/png;base64, so a browser can show it directly.
- Is my image uploaded?
- No. It is converted in your browser.
